If your going to brave it without a guide, you must first visit the Fisheries and Oceans Canada website to check all fishing regulations prior to your trip. We want all of our cutomers to be aware of all daily limits, no catch zones, and in season changes. We need to follow these laws and regulations so our lodge and the surrounding wildlife stocks can be enjoyed for generations to come.
Where's the best place to fish? At what time? With what lure? What speed? Depth? Color? Flasher? Leader length? Ahh...too many questions to answer, and with changing tide and weather conditions, isn't it better to get someone who knows these waters better than the back of their hand. At Marvinas we offer experienced guides for hire. It is done in larger, comfortable boats, with extremely knowledgeable staff. We highly recommend a guide, especially for your first trip to Nootka, to help you make the most of your adventure. Increase your odds, and your safety, hire a guide.
What others are saying...
"I stayed at the wonderful Nootka Cabins with guests from Europe. The cabin that we were assigned to is huge and very well appointed, but the highlight is that it is looking right onto the fantastic Nootka Sound. As soon as we were settled in we were entertained by watching the otters and the eagles in the bay right in front of the cabins. What a treat. What a retreat!"
"These cabins are nestled in the heart of Nootka Sound close to the lighthouse and one bay over from Nootka Island Lodge. Access to the trails and bays by kayak is fun, close and in protected waters. For a family getaway on the beautiful waters of Nootka Sound we couldn’t find a better accommodation. We were amazed at what a simple paddle it was from the Uchuck drop off at Friendly Cove."
“We had a wonderful time and we all know that without you it wouldn’t happen. I love your cabin. It is unique in my experience. Next year is already in planning”
