Marvinas Bay Lodge is a west coast fishing retreat located in Nootka Sound. The lodge has been entertaining public and corporate clients for over 25 years. Nootka is world renowned for its amazing salmon fishing, both chinook and coho are common catches through the summer months. If your lucky, you may even catch one of the many “tyee” or chinook over 30 lbs, brought in each year.

So where do you stay in Nootka? Marvinas Bay is so close to the fishing grounds, you can fish off the dock! The boat run time is usually under 15 minutes to the main fishing holes, how much money is that going to save you in boat fuel alone?

We have guests that have been coming for over 20 years, once you visit Marvinas, you'll never want to leave.

RENTAL POLICIES

A 50% deposit is required to hold your reservation. Balance is due by June 15th.
Check-in time is 4:00 pm and check-out time is 11:00 am.
Cancellations between May 1st and June 15th will be subject to deposit forfeiture.

Getting Here

To get to Marvinas Bay Lodge, you will need a boat launched at Gold River. Or you can contact Air Nootka, they have been flying in the area for over 30 years. They can fly your group from just about anywhere, but have schedual flights from Gold River to different areas in Nootka Sound daily. A scenic flight is putting it lightly, the view of Nootka sound from the air is incredible.

Fishing

If your going to brave it without a guide, you must first visit the Fisheries and Oceans Canada website to check all fishing regulations prior to your trip. We want all of our cutomers to be aware of all daily limits, no catch zones, and in season changes. We need to follow these laws and regulations so our lodge and the surrounding wildlife stocks can be enjoyed for generations to come.

GUIDED FISHING

Where's the best place to fish? At what time? With what lure? What speed? Depth? Color? Flasher? Leader length? Ahh...too many questions to answer, and with changing tide and weather conditions, isn't it better to get someone who knows these waters better than the back of their hand. At Marvinas we offer experienced guides for hire. It is done in larger, comfortable boats, with extremely knowledgeable staff. We highly recommend a guide, especially for your first trip to Nootka, to help you make the most of your adventure. Increase your odds, and your safety, hire a guide.

The facility is very comfortable and has all the amenities a large group could want. We especially like the little things like a large dock and an ice maker. The best part of Marvinas is the fishing. Marvinas is very close to the fishing grounds and you can choose between fishing in calm inside waters or traveling offshore. We have had great success with both, often catching Chinooks within 10 minutes of the lodge. Halibut fishing is also very good and easy to get to from Marvinas. "I have been part of a large group that looks forward to our annual outing to Marvinas Bay every year, for over twenty years now. And every year it just gets better. The lodge is very well equipped and the dock sits out in the bay as part of the best view anywhere in the Sound. The features of this lodge just keep on amazing me. It is located right IN the fishing grounds of Nootka Sound and is in protected waters so we can go fishing in any weather. Our group really enjoys that we have the entire property to ourselves and that we are able to decide our own fishing plans and dining options. Our group uses a combination of our own boats and guided boats provided by the lodge owners. The owners will do everything possible to customize your stay to your needs. The group that we bring now has a waiting list as this is the most fun that a group of colleagues, friends or family could possibly have together. A well kept secret gem!!"
